S. Russell Edwards, DVM
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Edwards feels very fortunate to be able to do what he loves and feels passionate about. He is a proud graduate of the University of California Davis. He has been practicing in Camarillo for 35 years. His practice is limited to dogs and cats. Since medical information is constantly changing he believes the more types of animals you see, the more difficult it is to stay current with new medical information and treatments. Dr. Edwards looks forward to meeting you and your furry family members.

Education:
University of California Davis
Bachelor in Science
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Fun Facts:
At home Dr. Edwards spends time with the family’s two orphaned princesses (cats) “Monkey and Budha” as well as three outdoor abandoned cats that have made his home their home. When not practicing medicine he enjoys trout fishing, cooking, muscle cars and of course USC football. Thanks to his son Brian’s company furloughing their employees one week each year, Dr. Edwards finally needed to get a passport so that he can travel to some of the distant places he has always wanted to see.

Michelle MacGilfrey, RVT
Registered Veterinary Technician

Michelle is our Licensed Veterinary Technician. She has been with Dr. Edwards and the practice since 1992 and has a strong compassion for animals and for what she does. She was born and raised in Camarillo, moving to Ojai with her family in 1985. She still lives in Ojai with her two rescue Chihuahua’s Jeadee and Joey.

Education:
RVT- Registered Veterinary Technician
California State License Exam 2009
Veterinary Technician National Exam 2010

Fun Facts:
In her spare time Michelle enjoys being outdoors hiking, mountain climbing, backpacking and canyoneering. If she is not working, you will most likely find her on a trail or in a canyon somewhere.

One of Michelle’s favorite quotes is “In the wilderness lies the preservation of the world” Henry David Thoreau

Anya Deck
Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

Anya has been working for Dr. Edwards since 2007. Prior to that, she attended community college and worked in retail. She has always loved animals, and working with them has been very rewarding on many different levels. Being able to help those who can’t speak for themselves has inspired her to be their voice and help animals in need. She is married with two kids, three dogs and two cats (all rescue’s). She cannot imagine her household without her four-legged critters.

Fun Facts:
Outside of work Anya enjoys rescuing and fostering animals in need. She also enjoys going for walks, hiking and spending time with her family.
